Both East of the Wall and Day Without Dawn were both spiritual successors to The Postman Syndrome. Day Without Dawn existed from 2005 - 2008, when they disbanded and all remaining members moved on to East of the Wall.

The band released two albums, a self-titled EP in 2006 and the posthumous Understanding Consequences LP in 2008.
